The big Handmade Birthstone Jewelry collection that I first did when Skippy was a pup has had numerous updates over the years: Pieces sell out, trends change, new artists come to my attention, and other factors lead to a fluid collection. But, this time, the collection has been totally revamped and moved to the Shopping Portal. It currently has 188 gorgeous handpicked pieces, 16 for every month except September, which has 12. That’s because sapphire, the September birthstone, is harder to find, at least in the handmade world. I did a new collection introduction (and it’s also folded into each individual month for reader convenience) so I don’t need to provide it again here. But, since this is November, I have provided you shortcuts to three pretty, and stylistically diverse, citrine pieces: A necklace, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings. Just click the images for details. And also click over and check out the rest of the November birthstone jewelry collection
This Citrine Riata Necklace has a leather cord that holds a golden citrine that’s hitched to a sterling silver link. It’s 17-19 inches long, with a lobster claw clasp. Handmade in the USA. $118 at Sundance.
This sterling silver link bracelet, Butterfly Blossom, was made by Novica India artisan Bhavesh. A whimsical, modern, take on an ancestral jewelry tradition in Jaipur, his design depicts butterflies that browse a golden blossom. It’s 7-1/4 inches of sterling silver links with a lobster clasp. $129.99 at Novica.
These delicate Inner Sun Earrings are like little sun catchers you can wear. A sparkling faceted citrine is suspended from 14kt gold-filled findings within a teardrop of hammered sterling silver. They’re 2-1/2 inches long, suspended from french wires. Handcrafted in the USA. $168 at Sundance.
